I’m not sure why this video is just now coming out… didn’t this track drop in ‘06? or have i just been under a rock? Anyway, I’m happy it finally did because it’s right up my alley! A few of you may have caught my projection vj/dj trprkpr nye set where i tried to marry light and visuals with music to create a seamless experience. Well its work like this that inspired those attempts. I have the urge to jump back into it all.
The song is from Digitalism while the video was produced by Videobeast and Directed by Scott Altman.
So this guy stole my idea and implemented it way better than i would have. I guess that’s why I’m not that funny. I’ve never understood the whole free hug thing, not that it offend or bothers me… it just seems a bit cult-ish or rather altruistic if your a glass half-full type of person. I’m sure a Google search would probably give me a wealth of information about the whole movement; but that’s exactly what they want me to do! That’s how they suck you in!
This is a pretty dope ad directed by 23 y.o. Iranian born filmmaker Saman Keshavarz. You can check out more of his work over at his blog.
So i discovered this gem via the @philtyblog and let me tell you… sheer goodness all around! Directed by Tim Brown of Colonel Blimp & Christopher Hewitt Knucklehead(uk) for the Berlin based producers Hecq & Exillion’s latest track Spheres Of Fury; this video portrays an action packed combat scene sans all the blood and gore. The directors’ inspiration…
“was born from a mutual love of 80’s war films. The bravado and attitude that pours from these movies is nothing but a treat to watch, our modern remake aims to capture some of those magical moments but with a slightly comical, modern stance.” - Tim Brown
I enjoyed pretty much everything about this video from the shots , to the editing to the color treatment. Add to this, the fact that it was shot on Canon’s new EOS 7D. I’ll be getting my mitts on one of these in the near future and when I do… Watch out!

The Diligent Dance monthly mixes generate the most traffic of anything I post to this site, So I tend to take them somewhat seriously. I put in a decent amount of effort to make them good and I hope that shows. I do have to say that this month’s is definitely one of the better ones. Let me know if you agree!
