iPad Envy

Many people have expressed dis-interest in the iPad as we’ve all had such grand hopes and dreams of the miracles this device could afford us to perform.  But, let’s get our heads out of the clouds for a second and think about this rationally…. For a device that starts at $500,  what minimal additions are musts before you’d consider purchasing said device?  For me, there are 2 things lacking that need to be rectified before I’d purchase.

1) Flash support

2) Multitasking

I think a lot of people would agree with me on this one. Yes?  I guess an alternative would be to just open up the platform and let developers go wild… but, again; heads out of the clouds people!

  • Maybe you have a point... But I'm trying to live within an consistent computer ecosystem.... Apple. One of my two must is reasonably easy to implement and I'm sure once 'jailbroken' the iPad will be able to handle flash. Apple chooses not to, for good or bad reasons... that's not my concern. I just want my porn. Yes, I am serious!
    Now for multi-tasking, This is just a dumb move on Apple's part... I bet they'll support it come the next major release of the OS.

    I'd consider buying if that happens.
  • I just don't think the iPad is geared 100% towards you - a competent computer user. It's the same reason why the iPhone isn't for a power user of smartphones. Its for the regular user who has to have a premium sorts of iPod Touch HD device.

    Wait for the HP Slate or the other myriad of iPad imitations with Windows 7 coming out. :-)
