Originally this was a “fan” video but now it’s the “official” video; so says this press release from Atlantic Records. The video is pretty awesome but what may be more awesome is Ross Ching, the video’s creator. Fresh out of school Ross realized the difficulty in differentiating himself from the rest of the pack; a sentiment many creative individuals share, me included. Ross’ solution was to exit the pack and turn to underutilized methods for telling stories.
This is the main reason I started doing time lapse and stop motion; because it enables me to tell stories differently. It catches people’s eyes and hopefully it will lead to a creative job.
Ross filmed the Little Bribes video on his own and posted it to the web where it caught the attention of Death Cab For Cutie who’ve since anointed it as the offical music video. Ross’ hopes for employment apparently have come to fruition too, he’s been hired by Atlantic to film another project. Good for him!
