By far, these mixtapes are the most trafficked posts on my blog. So I thought this would be an opportune time to get a pulse on who’s visiting my site; and to kinda open up a dialog so this doesn’t seem like such a one way conversation.
Everything in life doesn’t necessitate a comment and I have aversions to commenting on posts myself, but I’d like it very much if you could announce who you are and maybe a little something about yourself. Questions and/or critiques of my mixtapes and anything else are welcome too! If you’d rather not, that’s ok too!
Anyhow, without further ado…

So the latest of the Justice remixes have been serious disappointments in my opinion. My friend Seth aptly pointed out the similarities between “D.A.N.C.E.” and their new reworked version of U2’s “Get On Your Boots”. And then, today I hear the remix of Lenny Kravitz’s “Let Love Rule”. “Phantom II” anyone… or is it just me? Maybe Justice is an one trick pony? Their debut album definitely had a ‘Justice esque’ motif… and while some songs seemed like re-workings of others, it allowed for a solid cohesive album.
But!!!!
it’s 2009 now and re-working two year-old tracks isn’t going to cut it! They have to ride a fine line of maintaining their recognizable brand/sound and progressing musically (or should I say electronically) if they want to remain relevant in the future.

This is a parody of my favorite video from last year (Stress by Justice).
