Watch! What if…

I know a lot of people think Ron Paul is a quack but he’s the only one in the political arena that makes logical sense in my opinion. It’s a shame he is written off so easily, What if we actually took the time listened to him?

What Now Chief?

So we have a new Commander and Chief… Chief!   And that’s a good thing, but yet as soon as that reality was digested a wave of… emptiness? consumed me. “Now What?” What’s next on the horizon for us?  for ME?

In Elementary I looked forward to Junior High. In Junior High I looked forward to High School. Then it was my drivers license, my first job, soon enough my first car.  Next thing I know I’m excited about college, an internship, graduation, a bit of grad school, a career! The past couple of yearsy its been the election. Then ending 2008. And finally, the Inauguration!  So whats the next marker?

I need something significant temporally set in the distance; an event attached to a fixed schedule/calendar.  Something not subject to fickle and procrastinarian ways.  A milestone! Something that can help me keep on with my day to day, and allow me to measure personal accomplishments with expectations.  Does that make sense?

Anyhow, I recently booked my trip to SXSW, it’ll be my 3rd consecutive year attending and its all I got to look forward to right now.  So far the lineup isn’t all that impressive, but with hundreds and hundreds of bands playing throughout the week, there is no doubt that I’ll be an erratic mess, trying do & see more than is humanly possible. Anyone else attending?

Politics! Where Was The Media When Barak Obama Was Inaugurated?

The absurd wall-to-wall Obama coverage is here so I thought I’d do my part and contribute to the noise. It really says a lot that with everything going on in this delicate world that so much focus be placed on the inaugural festivities. Obama must be the second coming or something; apparently israel has agreed to stop killing palestinians right in time for the inauguration. Gawker reports that Israel carefully coordinated it’s operational timeline so as not to upstage the president elect in media coverage. That’s awfully nice of them.

Thanks to the intense coverage I’m learning tons and tons of critical information that I might never have know. Here are a few captivating headlines.

The Gathering Crowd - Some agree that the crowd will eventually disperse.

Nation’s Hopes High for Obama - This is in stark contrast to Obama’s hopes for the nation.

Tiger Woods will be part of Obama inauguration - He’s Obama’s caddy for the day.

How San Diego Does an Inauguration - They’re hosting the Inauguration in 2016

Kevin Frazier Blogs from Inaugural Hot Spots - He typically blogs from cold spots, this is a big deal!

Bus Nears DC Area - This is good to know b/c it was pretty far from DC yesterday.

President ‘has four years to save Earth’ - Don’t worry people, Obama projected that he’d only need 4 days.

Thank you so much Media!

Politics! So Long and Thanks For Nothing, Now Lets Celebrate!

So it’s the final weekend of the Bush era… How does that make you feel? I feel as if I’ve aged 30 years since W took office. Not to blame it entirely on Bush; I feel as if a generation’s innocence has been lost, and he we are selfish, scared and cynical. I’m hoping that the era of Obama will allow us to reclaim some of what was lost. So what am I going to do on this final weekend? I’ll be celebrating of course, and you should too! And how do we celebrate? We dance the night away!
