I can’t put how I feel about this video into words… Most of the time I love to learn about the technical aspects of a production, but sometimes it’s better to leave the magic curtain intact. I really do enjoy the direction of this video, the slow motion, the human ballistics, the water explosions, the city scape in the distance… quite an interpretation of what might just be an epic war scene.
I think i’m the only person this side of the pond who actually likes this band tho… and that’s a shame. I naively proclaimed them the Breakout Band of 2008… ha, boy was I wrong! Their debut album ‘Beat Pyramid’ was damn good too! I just don’t get it… people need to get their heads out of their arses and jump on board the TNP train. You’ll get your chance rather soon as they’re set to release their sophomore effort ‘Hidden’ on January 18th, 2010. I’ll of course ensure that everyone knows that I ‘d been listening to them way before they blew up. Such is life!
Watch! Digitalism - Jupiter Room
I’m not sure why this video is just now coming out… didn’t this track drop in ‘06? or have i just been under a rock? Anyway, I’m happy it finally did because it’s right up my alley! A few of you may have caught my projection vj/dj trprkpr nye set where i tried to marry light and visuals with music to create a seamless experience. Well its work like this that inspired those attempts. I have the urge to jump back into it all.
The song is from Digitalism while the video was produced by Videobeast and Directed by Scott Altman.
Watch! Hecq Vs Exillion - Spheres Of Fury
So i discovered this gem via the @philtyblog and let me tell you… sheer goodness all around! Directed by Tim Brown of Colonel Blimp & Christopher Hewitt Knucklehead(uk) for the Berlin based producers Hecq & Exillion’s latest track Spheres Of Fury; this video portrays an action packed combat scene sans all the blood and gore. The directors’ inspiration…
“was born from a mutual love of 80’s war films. The bravado and attitude that pours from these movies is nothing but a treat to watch, our modern remake aims to capture some of those magical moments but with a slightly comical, modern stance.” - Tim Brown
I enjoyed pretty much everything about this video from the shots , to the editing to the color treatment. Add to this, the fact that it was shot on Canon’s new EOS 7D. I’ll be getting my mitts on one of these in the near future and when I do… Watch out!
