Watch! MGMT - Kids
This video creeps the hell out of me. The kid’s parents should be investigated by child protective services for mental and emotional duress. I think I’m going to have nightmares tonight… Imagine what the kid is experiencing. He looks so terrified at moments! Definitely a different direction than I would have taken a video for this song. All in all, I’ll say its interesting but that doesn’t mean I like it.
Also, Is it me or does this video seem a little bit late? I mean, releasing a video for the biggest single on their album now? It’s easily a year overdue, it seems counter intuitive to me. I would have assumed that the MGMT boys would be concentrating on a new relase by now. Guess not! Or is it marketing? They’ve been off the buzzdar for a few months now, so a new video for a popular track may have a stimulating effect on upcoming material.

Gasp. This video is amazing! I often see videos that clash rather than compliment, trying to upstage the music. Sometimes they do… but most often times they fail. My friend Nathan launched an awesome website called I’m From Driftwood where gay people share true stories about their life experiences. Since launching a month or so ago, he’s already amassed nearly 100 stories that range from laugh out loud funny, to emotionally touching. Tomorrow is Making Time w/ Simian Mobile Disco @ Pure; I can barley contain myself right now. It’s going to be sick and ‘m going to dance my ass off!
